Illegal drug cartels are selling counterfeit pills that look exactly like prescription oxycodone, hydrocodone, Xanax, Adderall and other often abused drugs. They are the same size, color, and carry the same markings as the genuine article, but they are far more deadly. Literally, ONE PILL CAN KILL! Many of these pills can easily be purchased online by anyone with a smartphone.

And it’s not just pills. If you’re using any kind of illicit street drug, including marijuana, it could be laced with deadly fentanyl, the synthetic opioid that is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine. Fentanyl is being found in all types of opioid drugs, including heroin and pills, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. There have even been reports of dealers taking medical marijuana, lacing it with fentanyl and putting it back into the dispensary packaging to make it look legit. The truth is, NOTHING IS SAFE!

Most recently, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration issued a warning about what the media is calling “rainbow fentanyl” – bright-colored pills made to look like candy and colorful blocks made to look like sidewalk chalk. According to the DEA, “rainbow fentanyl” appears to be a new method being used by drug cartels to get our children hooked on opioids.

Just two milligrams of fentanyl, which is the equivalent of 10-15 grains of table salt, is considered a lethal dose. In Northeastern Pennsylvania, toxicology tests have shown the presence of fentanyl in nearly all overdose deaths in the past two years.

Don’t become another statistic! There is a better way. Treatment and recovery for substance use disorder are only a click away.

Let today be the first day of the rest of your life!
